For Public Relations Presentation Techniques course at the University of Missouri, I created a final project in which the assignment was to pretend I worked for a PR firm of choice and present to client. I chose to be an Account Executive at Hawkins International Public Relations because of my recent internship at HIPR and interest in the travel industry. I chose Hopper as the client because I think Hopper fits into HIPR's client list and could be a great company to acquire.
For this project I personally researched Hopper as a brand, the industry, and came up with a creative strategy to present to Hopper. I practiced presentation skills in front of class and my professor asked questions assessing my understanding of the client and industry. Part of the project was to sell myself as a suitable candidate to take on this account. At the end, I had to present an agreement to my professor to authorize the official terms of obligations.
Throughout this course I additionally practiced pitching to editors over the phone and email, discussing a raise or promotion to a boss, interviewing, and more.
